Clindamycin prescribed by dentist 1 week prior to surgery

I just went to dentist and he prescribe my clindamycin. Can you take that 1 week prior to surgery. I have not taken it yet and plan on calling office first thing in morning. Just wanted to see if anyone else had a issue with a tooth prior to surgery.

its obviously more important to let your surgeon tell you; but did you tell your dentist you were having surgery in a week? What did he/she say?

It's a heavy duty antibiotic. It's probably fine.
