Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I have read that you can only absorb 30 gms protein at a time. What do you eat daily? Are you taking Vitamins? How's your blood pressure? traceygirl 5 Posted July 26, 2016 My Dr said aim 60-80 for Protein. My blood pressure was kind of low actually at the Dr's 2 weeks ago. He said if I felt dizzy to call. This was my PCP not surgeon. You may need to have additional meals with Protein. Your BP may be an issue too - I'd be sure to follow up with your surgeon on that.
traceygirl 5 Posted July 26, 2016 I drink it throughout the day. I cannot drink it all at once. What would you suggest for the "small meals"? I had a slice of turkey from the deli early. I felt very full. I can only take a few bites before feeling overly full Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
KristenLe 5,979 Posted July 26, 2016 @@traceygirl Try having small servings of Protein every 3 hours - 5 to 6 times a day. That could be tuna, chicken salad, hummus, greek yogurt, baked fish, salmon, Protein Shake, cottage cheese, deli meat etc. Are you on soft foods or can you have anything? Be sure to drink fluids (wait the amount of time your plan suggests after meals). You may want to add some healthy fats (avocado) and carbs (fruits & veggies) to your diet. Check in with your Nutritionist for some guidance too.
