Evenkeel 5 Posted October 21, 2016 It will get better. Don't push too hard with food. Protein Shakes are okay, too, while you're healing. Vitamins are very important, too, since deficiencies can cause more pain and many fibro people are all ready borderline or deficient in one or more micronutrient anyway. Do you take muscle relaxers? I found those were also very helpful for stomach cramping and pain in my topmost incision, and my surgeon had said ahead of time that it probably would. Evenkeel 5 Posted October 24, 2016 It's still early in the process for you. Any Protein is better than nothing so don't beat yourself up too much. Try a different kind of shake, maybe. I really liked Isopure because they are thin like milk and taste great. If you make them with milk of some type then that packs in the protein even more when you can only get little bits down at a time. They also make an unflavored powder you can add to stuff, but it's not completely tasteless (at least to me) so it's better when added to applesauce or things like that. Maybe that would open up some possibilites for you.
spdmonkeymama 36 Posted October 24, 2016 I was rny 9/26/16 and some of what your explaining I have been dealing with. I woke up from surgery screaming my left rib cage was in so much pain. They told me it was gas. A week later when I saw the surgeon I told him it still hurts a great deal. He said it appears I have a bruised rib and it will heal it just takes time. Over the last week I have been in so much pain in my lower left back with my ribs only really hurting when I breath deep. The other pain is not quite constant. My other issue is I'm dealing with cycle pain and si joint dysfunction. Because of my back pain I've been sleeping weird and my si joint has slipped put of place. I see my pcp tomorrow and I'm hoping he will give me some pt to do. Or something with this pain. Sent from my SGH-M919 using the BariatricPal App
