I have read a lot of your journeys and suggestions, now just to get through the 2 days prior to procedure. I'm already so thankful for this forum!

Had the procedure this morning. My doctor did not want to give me a patch for Nasdaq, he instead gave me one that goes under my tongue and melts. I have been vommitting all day. I'm hoping to be better soon. Any suggestions?

For nausea! Stupid spell check :)

I must be one of the lucky ones.... Had no issues apart from mild cramping in the early days. Having said that I was (and still am) on reflux meds.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Day 5. Finally talked my doc into the patch, felt much relief within 2 hours. Started feeling like myself again day 4, just really week. Today I start the puréed phase of eating, I'm actually hungry. Have lost 8 pounds in 5 days but with all of the vommitting I'm not surprised. When I swallow food I can feel it travel down to my stomach and hit a road block.

I am on day 14. I constantly have a growling stomach and a small amount of cramping as well. I am trying to eat a lot of Protein. Does this constant hunger go away? Yes I drink a lot of Water.

It took me around two weeks to get past it, so hopefully you're just about to turn a corner. :-)

did you have much gas on the first day? I had mine inserted today (orbera) and I have had minimal nausea but i feel like I need to burp a lot to relieve the gas but i can only manage small burps!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
