Hey! I had my surgery just a couple of days after you on 7/23 and I am 20lbs down as well. So I would say we both must be doing something right. Keep doing what your doing!

From what I've observed over the last year here, this is common and normal. I never dropped that much that quickly but I see it happen all the time. It definitely won't continue to be that rapid, but right now you're losing fat and Water weight and that adds up very quickly. :) Good luck to you! Take good care of yourself.

My surgeon told me not to compare myself to anyone else because we are all at different sizes with different levels of activities. I am 27 days post of and have lost 29 lbs ❤️. Congrats on your weight loss and much continued success!

Bypass witch and NurseAmy both of sound like you are doing well. I had my procedure on 7/26. I feel like I haven't lost anything. I'm still fluids. What are you doing that I'm not? What excercises are you doing

Try not to worry too much. I had my surgery on 16th July and didn't lose anything in the first week. Then suddenly I was losing 1 kg per day. You might have some Fluid from swelling and such like I did in the first few days.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
