dr016443 1 Posted July 24, 2016 Hi all, I had my surgery back in December and I am pretty happy with the results. My problem is that I am craving sweets all the time and I did not have a sweet tooth before surgery. Now all I want is Cookies and ice cream. Also, I can eat all kinds of food without feeling sick (not large quantities), but then I save the rest for later. I need a menu, low in carbs any suggestions??? KristenLe 5,979 Posted July 24, 2016 If you've increased carbs - that's probably what's triggered the cravings. My plan suggests doing 50% Protein and 50% Produce each meal. Avoid bread, Pasta, rice. You can try going back to basics and get back to ketosis to try and rid yourself of the sugar cravings. Stay strong!
Unbridled 152 Posted July 24, 2016 Agree with @@KristenLe Over the 6 months of visits with my dietitian, she pounded in my head that not enough Protein will cause sweet cravings. She challenged me on it. So I played around with it and she was so right! So maybe just go back to the basics and increase your Protein throughout the day? I'm no expert by a long shot, but sometimes the basics are so obvious we forget them.

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App At 3 weeks - it's important to measure your portions and not eat more than allowed or suggested on your plan. My plan indicates only 1-2 ozs at that point. It's too early for your stomach to be able to communicate to your brain that you are full. You don't want to eat until you feel full - just satisfied.
