    • Yes I would be interested! Just tell me when...
    • I may be interested, depends on when.
    • Why would I want to get together with all of you and have a good time?

I would love to go! Please keep us updated. I never knew about the January trip or I would have planned on that one. I think if you continue to post and more people see it your response would be greater. Thanks

Here is another thing to think about. There are a lot of people who would attended but because of it being in Vegas or at a gamblling place do not wish to go to. I was the meeting chairperson for a group of professional people and we had a night at a casino with tour and we did not have more than 10-12 people show up. The other places we had 50- 60 people at a lunch/or dinner. Just my 2 cents.

Sounds like a great idea to me. But my vacations are already set for this year. I'd really be interested in going to a convention in '09.

OK - I am getting ready to do a cost analysis in effort to see if this can be accomplished without breaking the bank.

It would be great to do in June. I plan on making a trip to Vegas in June to meet a fellow lapbander that I know on here. Let us know!

I would love to attend but work keeps me tied down for the 1st 15 days of the month. If it all possible please try to plan during the last 2 weeks of whatever month you decide on and I will pretty much guarantee that I will be there.

OK... This is getting serious. If everyone wouldn't mind kinda getting the word out to see ballpark how many would be interested in the Las Vegas event, I am looking at hotels and conference rooms.

I'd check with the Vegas docs who do this procedure.

The local doc here said they won't accept move-ins aka new patients banded elsewhere if they were banded in Mexico or Las Vegas.

So evidently there are many docs there who do it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
