    • Yes I would be interested! Just tell me when...
    • I may be interested, depends on when.
    • Why would I want to get together with all of you and have a good time?

I am curious to see who may be interested in a LBT event in Las Vegas. I have had this burning idea for about a year now, and may have the desire to see it through to fruition.

I am thinking Vegas because flights are cheap and everyone just needs an excuse to go there...

Let me know what you think!

I know about that one.

I am talking about having speakers (bariatric surgeons, plastic surgeons, etc.) and clothing exchanges... Perhaps a biggest loser contest, before and after boards, etc. All sorts of fun stuff.

I have the means to secure speakers, and sponsors, and a place for fills. Just need to get a general idea of who would be interested.

I think it is a great idea. I am interested in the Jan. one, but that is just for fun. An information type weekend would be very helpful! Thanks for thinking of it!

Good luck.

I thought there'd be better turn out for the January Vegas thing and there just isn't.

I know you have a different vision and that's fantastic...but if I had to speculate on why responses are low it is because people get caught up in daily living after having the band a few months and just aren't inclined to do a big in depth event. I know GBers are very into creating networks and socializing.

Are banded people just more independent?

I agree. I'm having reservations about trying to accomplish this. It would be a extremly pretty penny out of pocket to put something like this together, and worse if I were the only one there...

I say let's post a date

and keep the thread open for :

hotel rates-who's staying where

airline rates-who's flying what and when

and RIDES- if you need a ride or can give a ride-

give your beginning point and route to vegas

Oh, realistically I think holidays work best. Most have them off..it's a matter of choice to come to vegas or go elsewhere

And too...we should post an itenerary- there are great meal specials and shows so we should post them in case anyone wants to join us or at least know where we are at when they get there.

I think planning for summer would be a good option. It let's people recoup from the holidays and plan towards the trip. My husband and I have been dying to go back to Las Vegas outside of having to go for pool tournaments (yes....we play billiards, and have to gloat, have taken local teams to the Nationals in Las Vegas).

One more thing....maybe this poll would do better to be in another forum since this is somewhat lap-band related. The louge is for anything not specifically related to banding or the Lap-Band. Just an afterthought.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
