I have tried the berry flavor, it is okay cold. It depends on your preference. I am trying the Isopure Protein drinks which I seem to like and lately with the heat we have been experiencing when they are cold hit the right spot and they have a lot of flavors.

I go to the Vitamin Shoppe and get them. Also check out Syntrax Nectars. I like the Fuzzy Navel... It kind of taste like orange juice. Immediately after surgery the first week I had a tough time with the Protein shakes so the Fuzzy Navel was right on! With Syntrax Nectars they have a variety pack that has the various flavors in sample packs so you can try them.

I also tried the Isotech Protein drinks and did not like them.

@@sonardms my disclaimer I am not a NUT or a physician but I will try my best to give you advice based on my experience of being sleeved since 28 April 2016.

Under my program days 1-14 I was on Clear liquids and two Protein drinks per day. Essentially my daily intake for grams of Protein needed to meet at a minimum of 54 grams per day from a supplement. It was advised not to start dairy type products until days 15-21.

Recommended Protein supplements under my program:

100% whey

Isopure- I like

Syntrax nectar - Fuzzy Navel I like

Matrix

Pure Protein

RTD50

Jay Robb

Premier Protein-I have not tried but it seems to be pretty popular

Quest Protein

So I am not endorsing all of these products just giving you an idea of what was recommended to me.

I hope something I said helps.

Also congratulations and welcome to the losers bench.

I try to stick to Protein options that give you the biggest bang without all the sugar. For me, that solution hands down is Premier Protein ready made shakes. They have 30 grams of protein in an 11oz shake, they only have 1 gram of sugar and are 160 calories.

They don't have that crappy gritty protein taste and served ice cold are pretty great. Even 22 months post op I still have one every morning. It ensures that I hit my protein goal every day.

Here's a very important FYI. I was recently hospitalized for critically low thiamine, Vitamin A, Vitamin B12, and Vitamin D levels. I ended up with a picc line and TPN. I had been using the topical vitamin Patches. My NUT told me there is no way for the Vitamins to be absorbed through the skin. DO NOT USE THESE unless you want to end up hospitalized for 8 days like me.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
