Lean Cuisine..frozen dinners

Recommended Posts

A lot of people eat them, which is cool because I love them and they work great for me when I can't or won't eat what my family is eating.

So I was wondering, which is your favorite? Which ones do you eat?

I LOVE LC's Almond Chicken...BUT sadly, I can't eat it any more  The rice/broccoli combo gets stuck . I'm going to try the Balsamic chicken tonight...here's hoping it goes down!

Peanut Chic

Sesame Chic

I was wondering if LC would still be a possibility after being banded. Most seem to have rice or Pasta.

Alas....I LOVE the panini sandwiches, but I am almost sure that I won't be able to eat them when I am banded..."which is only 11 short days away!...but that is okay with me! I'd rather be skinny!

I love LC's meatloaf & whipped potatoes ... I also buy "Smart Ones" slow roasted turkey breast & their roast beef too. These are sometimes a bit pricey though so I've also tried "Michaelina's" Budget Gourmet, their meals are around a $1 each.

I LOVE the Smart Ones Thai chicken MMMmmmmm!

I also like the Healthy Choice Steamers. They are quite good. South Beach makes some good meals, too.

I like the south beach diet dinners with chicken. The portion seems large and they are tasty. The beef dinners...not so good.

I get them all for the variety (Smart Ones, Lean Cuisine, Healthy Choice and South Beach. SB tends to have more Protein and less carbs which is good but not as much variety as the others.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
