cupples0405 19 Posted July 22, 2016 Hi guys, I'm 7/15. I'm doing well overall but I'm just so darn sore and it seems like I'm sore everywhere. From my head to my legs. My incisions are itchy but sore. Im able to get close to the 60g Protein daily (52ish) and close to the 64oz. I'm just so darn tired of sipping. I'm still having a hard time establishing a good pattern of bowel movements (sorry, TMI). I also still can't sleep on either side comfortably and that frustrating. No issues of nausea but did take some of my acid reflux medicine for the first time today. Thinking about adding some GasX to help in that department. Adding one more medication makes me cringe but if takes some of this discomfort away I'm game at this point. food has really been the last thing on my mind but I am looking forward to the puréed stage. I think once I start chewing something I'll start to feel normal again. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
reducer623 137 Posted July 22, 2016 Everyone's pain level is different. It's normal to still be sore at this time as we've only been out a week. I have a bit of soreness but I don't need the pain medication given- it's manageable. The sleeping pattern is still tough. Like you I only feel comfortable laying on my back. I'm usually a side sleeper so that's been taking some getting used to. I had my 1st visit post op today. Prior to the pre-op diet I was 238. The day of surgery I was 220. I weighed in today at 224! I've heard about patients carrying weight from the Fluid and surgery but I was surprised to see that I'm still up 4 pounds a week out which has really been discouraging. My NUT told me to focus on my 14pd weight loss victory but it's difficult to accept the fact that I haven't lost in the week following surgery. On the bright side of things. I was permitted to begin purées today. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Crawford23 16 Posted July 22, 2016 Hi, I was sleeved on the 15th. I've been getting in 60 ounces of Protein and around 65 ounces of liquid daily. I'm still on a full liquid diet until day 12 then I can move on to pureed foods. Day 21 is when I will be allowed to introduce soft foods scrambled eggs ,tuna etc. I can't wait but the funny thing about it is that I haven't been hungry. It amazes me that I have to force myself to drink all day, it's crazy to me. I also still have a little gas that's bothering me so, I walk and take a gas-x. reducer623 137 Posted July 22, 2016 Yea the gas can be a nuisance lol. Isn't amazing to never be hungry? I was only on liquid for a week. For some reason Protein shakes are gross to me now... Way too sweet Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Crawford23 16 Posted July 22, 2016 @@reducer623 Protein Shakes make me too full and it seems like they're harder to digest. I've been using genpro unflavored Protein in what I eat or drink to get my protein in and it's working for me. I feel like I'm doing pretty good, so I can't really complain. becomingnicole 10 Posted July 22, 2016 I was sleeved on 7/13 and today is the first day I actually am feeling pretty good. Still having a hard time getting in the Protein requirements but I'm headed to the store for unflavored Protein. Congratulations and best of luck to you all on your journey! LA_lady 50 Posted July 22, 2016 I'm 7/13 and feeling great. Down 15 pounds since surgery (230 to 215). No pain except when I try to get up from a laying position. sleeping is so uncomfortable because I can only sleep on my back and it hurts my back! My main issue is HUNGER. I am so hungry all the time and cannot focus on other things. Watching people eat makes me so mad/sad. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
reducer623 137 Posted July 22, 2016 @@LA_lady 15 pounds wow! Congrats to all of you. I gained 4 pds, never hungry & I've been following all orders. Maybe I'm at a stall already lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

reducer623 137 Posted July 22, 2016 @@becomingnicole I switched unflavored as well. Isopure's is really great, can't taste it at all. Now that I can have purées. I was thinking of mixing the unflavored in my scrambled eggs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
MarieLouise 31 Posted July 22, 2016 I was sleeved on 7/12. I'm still on Clear Liquids, just added Protein Shakes on Wednesday. I feel like I'm doing well, but I get really tired with minimal activity. I'm jealous of those of you with cream Soup and purees already lol.
