Caligirl10210 1 Posted July 21, 2016 My current/highest weight is 335 and I am 6"0 My BMI is 45ish I don't know if I will have to lose any weight within my 6 month pre op. I'll have to be 300+ to stay qualified and above 40 BMI but I won't mind dropping 20-30 pounds if they need me to. funredneckgal 17 Posted July 22, 2016 Be very careful not to disqualify yourself. Depending on your insurance they will tell you to lose weight, but if you drop your bmi too low, they'll use it against you saying you can do it on your own. Good luck! Destinee_1 16 Posted July 23, 2016 I was at 42 BMI and was told if I Dont loose 10%of my overall weight as a sign of good faith and intent I would not be approved. My doc didn't care but insurance would not pay so I lost the weigh and more. I am 2 weeks post op. I can tell you I have lost multi pound a gained it back and then some in the past. This is more permanent if you are dedicated and that's what team wanted to see. I have just been losing these days lol
