How soon post op did you try eating lettuce? And how did that go for you?

I'm 2.5 months post op and have been all food for a while now. Thanks.

oh I think about 5 weeks for me. I don't have any problem with it.

About a month out, though I usually used chopped spinach for salads rather than lettuce due to its somewhat better nutritional profile, but both settled well with me. However, some people do have a bad reaction to lettuce for a long time, so best to try it first at home rather than at a restaurant!

I don't remember specifically.....but I think it was around the 3-4 month time frame.

No issues.

I often make a side salad for my lunches at work. I've never been an iceberg fan. I put a single layer of spinach leaves on the bottom and then pile on the eggs, chicken, pickles, jalapeños and some cheese. dressings are where I have to be careful.....choices here make all the calorie/carb difference. They usually have a light raspberry vinegarette that's got decent macros and good flavor.

By the time I work my way through the salad and get to the spinach.....I'm full and never finish.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
