Thank you! This is really helpful. I've entered the 6 mo. post op slump (no weight loss for 2 weeks). I will use this to refocus and start counting everything out again to get back on that weight loss journey.

Good luck to you!!

I am 13 months out and this would not work for me. I am still trying to lose and have to keep my carbs well below 50.

I'm sure it works for a lot of people but I bet there are a lot of people it wouldn't work for too.

Looks legit. My best results are certainly when I keep it between 50-100 grams. Still have good energy for the gym and loss still occurs.

Right outa the Paleo diet playbook.

Slight derail follows....sorry......

I know of few guys and a gal who are reaping the benefits of this. Only two of them are into it as fanatics.....embracing the marriage of Paleo + Crossfit. The others don't take it to the near cult-like level but really are doing well after eating more wholesome foods that aren't processed and full of extra additives/preservatives/etc.

Fresh outa the ground, off the vine, from the sea and on hoof. I can say with absolute sincerity that since being post-op I've been eating this way for the most part and I feel much better overall. Cutting out the diet sodas, chips, candy, pop tarts, Cereal, frozen Desserts and etc has been great. If I get the strong desire for something sweet......then some chilled seedless grapes or blueberries are the ticket and so much better tasting now than any of that other garbage was before.

I still use artificial sweeteners in coffee and the list of chemicals in my Protein powder and pre-workout drinks are not good. Areas to work on.

Anyway, cool chart. Thanks for posting.

Great chart. Thanks for sharing. My doctor says that we need at least 50 grams of carbs for good brain function. On a day when my exercise is lower, my goal is 50 grams. On a day when my exercise is high, my aim is 100 g of carbs. The number for weight maintenance is interesting.

Thanks for the info. :)

My dietician gave all her patients the same script of "Add carbs after 75% of weight loss" After my weight was down, I added two table spoons of whole wheat or plant based carbohydrates. I'm not complaining. I lost weight.

Crossfit+Paleo/Keto etc is great. I feel so fit and strong when I do Crossfit. I love how Crossfit is customized to everyone levels so everyone can be challenged but not left out. It is really a personalized unique experience.

I have definitely had to add some more carbs in just to get my calories up at this point. It is still hard for me to crack 50 carbs in a day. Most carbs I don't even like, plus I don't have room for them. It is a struggle.

Good stuff, there. It's awesome that you've found your stride with something that you enjoy.

If I wasn't currently nursing a few injuries I suspect I'd be searching out a tribe to join.

As it is I go it with my own routine and adjust for the POD (pain of the day), lol.

I had to stop because of the heat, just too hot to work out in the gym at the time I like to go. I am going to pick it back up in the Fall.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
