Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

Recommended Posts

So once again, I find myself out buying clothes because the ones from 6 weeks ago are falling off... I'm at Walmart (inexpensive) and of course I keep looking to the XXL or XL but I'm squarely now in Larges. After enough trying on clothing, I'm leaving but see a really cute top.

Here's the odd-good NSV. I didn't feel like going BACK to the dressing room, so with out thinking, I just took the shirt, pulled it over my head OVER the top I'm wearing. Skid to halt---- huh? Before WLS I would need to strip down to my skivvies! And the funny thing was I didn't think twice before I did it!

Boom!

And yes, fit perfectly.

I too still look in the 1x to x-large sizes and for the most part I go for the x-large shirts. I don't like a top to be form fitting at all! I've not had any plastics done and yes when I sit you can see my belly :-(

I'm 59 years old and these tops have been in my closet for years. I did also use some 2x tops before surgery. I've lost most my weight in the "boobs" and from the hips down. I'm in a mostly size 8 skinny jean at old Navy, and some 10's if I buy them elsewhere and they are an off brand.

But I am happy with my weight loss so far and I reckon I will still look in the x-large size shirts.

Oh and yes I have gotten rid of all those huge shirts and pants more than a couple times. I've had fun shopping for clothes now that I've lost weight.

Great unusual NSV!! I've been known to slip on a top or jacket without returning to the dressing room again. What's the harm as long as we don't walk out of the store with the item on :) LOL!!!

I still look at a lot of 2XL tops even though I can comfortably wear XL and some Large depending on style. I still have to fit my hips and prefer a certain length to help cover my belly. I'm 60 years old and seriously doubt that I will ever have any plastic surgery done.

Congratulations on your success!!

Congratulations to all of us for the great progress we've made already!!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
