Suggestions of FitBits?

Recommended Posts

There are so many out there and while my eyes are naturally drawn to the cheapest one. I want to buy whichever is the top rated and used by many. So which one do you guys suggest?

I have the flex and love it....However, I do wish I had one that also gave me the time and would show my number of steps right on the band. With the flex you have to go to the app to see the number of steps. I will probably upgrade in the future but will probably wait and just hint to my husband that it would be a good Christmas gift for me.. :-)

I use a Garmin viviofit it is cheaper than a fit bit, you can wear it swimming and the battery is good for a year without recharging. You can also view your steps, calories burned and time

I use the fitbit Surge. It shows the time and date, heart rate, steps, miles, cals, and floors. You can also track your exercise (gps), time it, calculate cal/steps/etc, for that activity. sleep patterns can also be monitored, if you wear it at night. You need to charge it about every 3-4 days. I love it. I feel lost when I don't have it.

I like my FitBit Flex because I can change the band to the pretty ones with a buckle. I hate those fat black bands of some of the others.

I just bought the Fitbit Blaze and i love it. You can track your steps, heart rate, floors and sleeping patterns all on the band. You can also see your missed calls and text messages and control your music from the watch if you sync it with your phone. I have to charge it every four days.

Actually it doesn't. Read the news

Mine does too. It's a new function. When I first bought it, it did not...Then they put out a free upgrade and now it does.

I also use the fitbit Surge. I just don't like that you can't change out the bands and it only comes in like three or four different colors (or so it did when I got mine), also you can't wear it swimming. When you sync it to your phone, you can control your music and you can also see incoming phone calls and text messages. I love to use the gps when riding my bicycle and it syncs with myfitnesspal so your calories burned and exercise will show up on myfitnesspal, which is one of my favorite features! I had a fitbit flex years ago when they first came out, but I had a nasty skin reaction from wearing it and eventually had to stop. I went through fitbit's customer service and was able to return it for a full refund with no problem.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
