I think it might be what you are eating. Maybe check the calories on the shakes and the Soup. Every surgeon is different and allowed diff foods. I wasnt allowed refried Beans till now and Im 3 weeks post op. Try drinking more Water. You can always ask your surgeon and see what he says.

Protein and Fluid should be your main goal.

When looking at what you're eating it appears to be a lot but How much of it are you consuming?

Meals shouldn't take longer than 30 mins to eat.

I could only get down my Protein shake and a 1/2 of banana (if the banana was in the shake). 1/4-1/2 cup of Soup and maybe a couple tbs of Beans.

Volume is a big deal.

If you're eating regular pre-op portions then yes you could be eating too much.

I can eat Beans on day 8 - not all plans require full liquids for weeks. I am on full liquids for days 1-7 and then puree.

That is also my plan but the way I am struggling with Fluid I have a hard time believing I'll be ready.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
