Hey guys I'm Erica and I'm currently 5 months out. I had the RnY surgery. Did anyone else feel like their stomach was too heavy while they were laying down? When I go to sleep my stomach feels hard and when I roll on my side it feels like it's stretching. Idk if it's because of the weight loss (day of surgery was 324. Now I'm 211) but it's starting to worry me, should o be worried? Also my stomach feels like it's numb all the time I touch it and it's like I can feel it with my fingers and I know I'm touching it, but my stomach doesn't feel it.. Is that normal?

That does not seem normal to me. The only thing I noticed was how empty and flat my stomach became with every 10lbs lost.

The part about your stomach being numb is what I would be most worried about. Have you called your surgeons office?

I've had a spot on my stomach, just to the right of the biggest scar that has been numb(ish) since my surgery. I'm only 9.5 weeks out at this point, and I do notice that the nerves are starting to come alive again in that area.

But if this is a new phenomenon, I'd definitely call the doc.

As far as the other feelings go, no, I have not experienced that. Are you going to bed shortly after you eat something?

I'd mention it to the doc when you see him... no point in not. And maybe he can explain it and make you feel better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
