Why is onederland so evasive?!

Recommended Posts

When you guys got to the lower 200's, did it seem like it took FOR-EV-ER for the scale to drop below 200?

Yes for me it took almost a month for me to make it to onederland. But the feeling you get when you do make it will be worth it. You'll get there.

I only recently made it to onederland. My weight lost had slowed in the last few months so compared to the 20 lbs a month I lost at the beginning, it is much slower. You'll get there. Keep up the hard work!

It does seem as I approach 200 things have really been slow. I hit 208 back on July 9th, and I seem to be just holding there. I haven't weighed myself in a few days as I've been out of town, so I am hopeful when I return I will have started moving again.

As always though, while I sit at the same weight, my body fat % goes down and my clothes start getting too loose. Like clockwork.

Ah yes, I do remember that feeling well. Forever to onederland in reality only took a week , that 200 mark just lingered for what seemed a lifetime. But then it happens and what a wonderful feeling !!

Now I'm patiently waiting to get to goal , and waiting and waiting and waiting

I hit onderland at week 22 after my surgery. It seemed like a long 22 weeks, but now I realize that it was pretty fast. It's funny how time seems to move so slowly after surgery. It's only after you reach your goals that the time seems short.

I know what you mean the closest I got was 209. Now I am back at 250. I am not happy where I am and onederland is my goal. Good luck on reaching onederland!

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
