Best of luck Lulu, I hope it all goes smoothly :)

I noticed earlier on this thread you were asking about Vitamins - I got these at my local Lloyds Pharmacy and they are great. Just like Gummy sweets, really easy to take.

Did anyone else take some makeup with them? Im staying there 5 days and I figured why not look good so I can feel better about myself! Plus, I only took the basics: foundation - concealer - powder - lipstick - bronzer - mascara and my brow shadow which can I also use as an eyeshadow! :)

I took moisturizer. I wear makeup and like makeup. I can't imaging having worn it in hospital even if I had been there 5 days. I brought a lot of stuff with me, most of which I didn't use, I appreciated having a dry spray conditioner, various lip glosses and moisturizer. You should do what you think is helpful but between trying to feel comfortable and having weird sleeping patterns I would not want to fall asleep in full makeup or put it on.

My essential was my sleeping mask and tempur pillow from home.

I took some basics for the journey home. Tinted moisturiser, eye liner & mascara, just so I didn't scare any children at the airport. I haven't gone out in public without make-up since I was 17.

Arrived in Germany today and now in Poland at the clinic doing a million test and still not done. Been awake for 26 hours now with no Water and food. Awesome. And to top that awesomeness. Santander decided not to accept my transaction of paying the clinic. :)

Rosie

Where did you leave your purse, phone and wallet when you went into surgery?

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I left them with my husband and then just had my small "overnight bag" with everything including my phone and ID. he held on to that until I got out of surgery. I did not keep a wallet on me, not like I was heading down to cafe! haha

I kept my bag on small table by my bed - had my clothes, toiletries and phone there. My husband tried to come back to hang out, but I really didn't want or need anyone in room, in and our of sleep, going to bathroom constantly. For me, I just wanted to focus on getting out of there!

You guys all tests were done okay and I was laughing all day then came the camera test and I couldn't do it then I started crying and I wanted my friends or fam with my and I couldn't do it so the doctor said I get anaesthesia so they give me one and then I don't know what happened! I just woke up in a different room and everything! Ughhhh and still dizzy but a consultation is left

Did you guys have a bottle hanging from your stomach to collect blood that you're bleeding? I don't know what is it for. I haven't seen the doctor and nurses don't speak English.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
