I am regretting everything about having this done right now. Every single thing I eat or drink except Water makes me nauseas. Everything. I'm not getting anywhere near my Protein and I have headaches. I am 2 weeks post op. I'm getting so discouraged and concerned.

I'm so sorry you're struggling...I'm about to hit 4 weeks post-op and generally, I feel better every day. Have you talked with your surgical team about your nausea? You really have to because you may need to be on some kind of medication to keep the nausea at bay so that you can eat. Your headaches are almost certainly related to lack of food and/or liquids. Do you have any energy at all? Are you able to walk, or get outside in the sun? That may help your mood. Call your doc tomorrow, don't let this go on any longer. By week 2, you really should be feeling better than it sounds like you are. Take care!

Have you asked your Dr to give you an anti-nausea med? Concentrate on getting fluids - dehydration is serious and will land you back in the hospital. Try different temps - some folks tolerate warm more than cold (or vice versa). Drink something with some electrolytes. Try tea or broth. Call your surgeon if it's not any better! You won't regret the surgery once you feel better!

You need some nausea meds. I understand the nausea; I still get it sometimes. It will get better, but only if you manage to stay hydrated and get some nourishment. Your body has been through a lot. Be patient with yourself, but don't be afraid to let your doctor know that you are struggling. Good luck, and feel better soon!

Please call your doctors office in the morning. At 2 weeks for me everything made me nauseous as well and the Dr. prescribed Zofran for me. Dehydration will earn you another trip to the hospital. I wish you well. It will get better!

I have Zofran for nausea - it's wonderful to take when needed. Please don't let yourself become dehydrated, it's awful! I've been in the ER twice for dehydration (missed my best friend's wedding :( ) Take care of yourself & stay strong...it gets better! <3

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
