Mornings?

Recommended Posts

I was banded in March 2007. I have had only 2 fills. Since this last fill I've found that I cannot eat in the morning. By the afternoon, I can seem to eat more, like at lunch. Then by the evening, I can even eat more then. Is any one else experiencing this?

I think most of us have a tighter band in the morning. I am not even interested in food in the morning, which is good because that means I get to drink a cup of coffee. I tend to get hungry around 10 or 11 so i bring oatmeal, or yogurt, or something tolerable to work for Breakfast. I take late lunches and sometimes cant eat all that much then either. I do eat something that is mostly protien at lunch because I know I wont be eating much and dont want to get to the "starving" point before I eat dinner. If I let it go that far I end up sliming :)

A lot of people say if you will drink a warm beverage you should be able to eat Breakfast.< /p>

I'm not hungry at b'fast, and I've found if I EAT b'fast I am hungrier throughout the day.. so due to a suggestion I'm now trying a Protein rich b'fast to try to curb the hunger (normally I have banana, yogurt, or oatmeal for b'fast which is a good count of carbs)..

But I normally just have coffee or milk for b'fast due to my disinterest in food then. I am tighter than normal in the morning. I know we're 'suppose' to eat b'fast, so I'm working on making b'fast a better meal for me.. but I am in your same boat :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
