Justina0218 28 Posted July 15, 2016 How did you all handle the liquid diet whether it was for 1 week or 2 weeks, I'm extremely nervous and I don't think negatively but reality is this will be very hard to endure for two full weeks? leebick 448 Posted July 15, 2016 I've done the liquid diet twice now; first for 13 days before the surgery was postponed (I was too sick for anesthesia to be safe) and this time for 9 days (postponed due to family issue). It's really not that terrible, or at least it wasn't for me. I honestly got to the point where I just didn't pay attention to it anymore- there were days when at bedtime I'd realize I'd only had 2 shakes all day. On a "regular" day I don't eat Breakfast at all and don't have lunch until around 2pm, so I am accustomed to going long stretches without eating. I had a harder time with the caffeine the first time around. The second time, I switched to half-caff for a week before starting the liquid diet, then switched over to Decaf on day 5. No headaches the second time around. I'm not sure for when my surgery will be rescheduled. It might be as late as mid-September. I don't know.. need to look at the calendar and juggle dates. BUT I"LL GET THERE!!
Clarevoyant 347 Posted July 15, 2016 Mine is only one week but honestly not nearly as bad as I thought. I think it is because I feel as though I am so mentally ready for this surgery that I just want to do things the right way and know this is part of the process. I am on day four today. As of this morning I had lost 4 pounds after three full days on it so that is very exciting and motivates me to continue because I will be that much closer to goal. Don't get me wrong, I am hungry but it is manageable. broth and tea help, the warm liquids are comforting. I also have been going to sleep earlier to avoid any temptations. I have not cheated once and am very proud of myself. You can do it!
