thisgirlhunts 94 Posted July 14, 2016 I've been given the go-ahead from my doc to resume all normal activities. I'd like to start some strength training at the local Y. I'm familiar with the machines and how to use them. Does anyone have recommendations for an app to track progress, specifically for strength training? (I used to carry around a clipboard--but there has to be an app to make it easier!) I've done some Googling, but thought I'd come to real experts for advice! Thanks! KeepCalm 223 Posted July 14, 2016 I've been looking for something like this too - I keep finding ones though that are for free weights (which I'm not brave enough to go do even at PF - roommate uses them.) I like the machines better atm and would like to find an app for them. I've been carrying around one of those small binders to keep track in.
thisgirlhunts 94 Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) @ I bought Jefit Pro ($4.99 on the App Store but there is a free version, too.) I used it tonight at the gym and so far I like it. I need to play around with it some more to learn all the features, but you might want to check it out. gary5862 208 Posted July 15, 2016 I've been using Nike NTC and like it. It isn't specifically what you asked for, but they have a fairly decent coach program and you can specify the types of workout you want to do.
VSG@50 13 Posted August 5, 2016 I use my fitness pal , works good, just do each muscle group , larger ones first , leg extentions , curls , intra and interlateral machines , then chest , back , shoulders , triceps and biceps , if do 2 to 3 times a week , then can get more creative ,,,, use machines so core will be out of the pictures, do not want to strain stomach ,,, My Fitness Pal app is awesome , everything on it , have a scale that auto records weight right to app so can see progress , plus my dietian sees it too
KeepCalm 223 Posted August 5, 2016 I've been using Jefit - bought the 4.99 version too and I REALLY like it - has all the machines that I use listed or I can substitute a similar one. Only thing I don't like is it doesn't have Water aerobics on it, so I just substituted regular Aerobics for it...
dede0314 356 Posted August 5, 2016 Try the app Strong. It really good and free. You can create exercise routines and also keep track of improvement such as increasing weight and reps.
