How many meals are suppose to have in a day?

I've been trying to get to 90g of Protein but I usually get about half or a little more. I usually do premiere Protein or triple zero yogurt for Breakfast, the tuna creations packet for lunch, and one of my ricotta bake recipes for dinner.

Is it too much/not enough? I've been working out almost daily and wondering if this is effecting me as well.

I eat 5 or 6 times a day to get my Protein in.

you might want to try eating Protein at your 3 meals, and having a couple Protein shakes in between. mid morning and mid afternoon.

What does the nutritionist at your program say?

3 meals a day high in Protein. I guess my problem is Breakfast, I tried scrambled eggs a while back and it didn't sit well with me. Hard boiled eggs didn't bother me as much

you don't have to eat breakfast food for breakfast. I don't, well I do rarely because it doesn't have enough Protein.

Why not have a piece of fish, shrimp, grilled chicken, turkey etc for breakfast.

I try to make sure I am eating at least 15 grams to 20 grams of Protein per meal

Fish is a good way to get your protein in early on because it is soft and easy to digest.

My plan is to hit 50-60g of Protein a day. I just plan around that, not thinking too hard about amount of food or number of meals. I try to keep my food choices as calorie to Protein efficient as possible, but sometimes I'll have some Peanut Butter or cashews that are a little higher in calories.

I was instructed to try and stick to regular meal times as a way to build good habits, and avoid grazing behavior.

It depends on your plan. Talk to your nutritionist.

It seems like most people prefer to have several small meals

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
