I know everyone's body is different but is there like an average amount of weight that a person should expect to lose by a certain time?

I am only two weeks out, I've already lost 15 pounds mostly due to the two weeks of Clear liquids I did after surgery. I am now onto the puréed phase but I'm concerned I may be getting too many calories. I am tracking what I'm eating and I'm not really going over 800-900 calories. I'm wondering if I can get that many calories in the mushy phase what's going to happen when I have no diet restrictions?

Also I stick to eating 1/4 of a cup of food or 1/2 of a cup of whatever I eat. Doctor advised not to go over 4 ounces per meal. I have followed this religiously but I never seem FULL, but I just stop eating after I've eaten 4 ounces.

Is what I'm doing OK? Should I be getting less calories? Should I be incorporating more exercise?

here's the deal - in almost any phase you can probably eat more than you should. that is why you have to have clear guidelines from your team about how many calories *you* should eat daily. it is going to vary based on your activity and size to begin with. I was probably at 700 calories a day at that time - but that was based on my personal situation.

More importantly - how much Protein are you getting? Not all calories are created equal. Focus on Protein and water!

I am doing really well with protein. Getting anywhere from 60 to 80, I know those numbers need to increase but I'm only on day 3 of puréeds. Water has been kind of an issue for me, I definitely need to get in more Water I'm averaging about 40 ounces.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
