I just made it to onederland last week myself so I know how you feel!

I cried when I saw the number too. I also started in the 300's, so I thought I'd never see a 1 again in front of my weight.

It's a wonderful feeling isn't it? You enjoy your accomplishment, you deserve it!!

So you're thinking you want your goal weight to be 180? That's what I originally thought too, but now that I'm in the 190's, I think I could go lower than that. Is that how you feel too?

Well 180 is the goal the Dr set for me. I'd actually like to get down to 160. But if I go no further than 180 I'd be ok because that would still be the smallest I've ever been in my teen and adult life. Congrats on your accomplishment too, by the way
I know, the weight I'm at now is the smallest I've been since I was 17. It's hard to pick a goal weight when you have no idea how you'll look!

160 sounds reasonable though. I'm like you, I'll get to 180 and see how I feel.

Congrats to you all. Absolutely incredible. For all those who have been on this journey for a couple months and have lost a ton of weight, any issues with loose skin? How to prevent if any? Thanks so much.

I'm new to here and still in the process of trying to get approved and it seems it's taking forever. Im grateful you shared this and your pictures because you just showed me what I could possibly actually accomplish with some time. It's tough not having those friends who don't know the feeling

I'm glad I inspire you because I have no regrets. Well that's not completely true, the only regret is that I wish I would have done this sooner. I was miserable with all that weight on me. I was depressed all the time, and now I'm enjoying life, and especially shopping. I thought I would never enjoy that. But now I can't wait to shop to see how low in size I can go. I can now squeeze in a size 12. I never was able to get anywhere near the 12s. The lowest size I've ever been during my teen years to adult life was a size 18. Hope all goes well for you and thanks for joining this wonderful site. You will get all the support you need here.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
