So, I needed some extra Protein tonight since I was not hungry for Breakfast and decided I would go for one of my packets of Sunkist tuna to fill in the gap. This time it was Thai style though and it is a bit spicy. I didn't think about it until after a few bites and my stomach started to get angry at me. It doesn't hurt, just noisy(er) than usual. So it got me wondering if spicy food is ok for my sleeve? I'm about 4 weeks out if that makes any difference.

I had my first post op appointment this past Thursday and I asked my doctor if I could add hot sauce to my chicken broth and he said yes but not to over due it, to try a lil first and then I can add more as I find out how my new stomach would react...so far so good I haven't have any problems with spicy sauce, I couldn't live with out anything spicy, I love spicy food...

I used spices post opt to liven up my limited menu. My first treat was refried Beans with a little melted cheese. I'd add either Stubbs spicy BBQ Sauce or Green Tabasco. I think spices are a great way to enhance Protein.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
