olamae 16 Posted July 12, 2016 With no comorbibitys and a bmi of 42.6 I cannot lose more the 16 pounds to stay at a bmi of 40. Any suggestions on maintaining weight on weigh in days? I just started so I'm just worried if I gain at a weigh in I'll be denied. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using the BariatricPal App
KristenLe 5,979 Posted July 12, 2016 @@olamae What weight do they use when submitting paperwork for prior approval to your insurance? Many surgeon's use the initial weight/BMI. How many weigh-ins do you have to do? I only lost 3 lbs during my 3 month supervised diet - and that was "trying" to lose weight. When I started, I basically ate healthy (just too much) and in my program I worked on eating more like I would post-op (high protein/low carb) but didn't watch portion size. Talk to your surgeon's office - especially the nutritionist and see what they recommend. Good luck.
