JustVanessa 9 Posted July 11, 2016 (edited) Anybody assigned a Nurse Case Manager through your insurance? Thoughts on this? Good thing or bad thing? I've heard both sides from people, just wondering if anyone here is using one, or has been assigned one for your bariatric procedure and what your experience has been with it? justhere4theshow 462 Posted July 11, 2016 I have gotten a couple of phone calls from a nurse at my insurance company. Very basic stuff like "How are you feeling?" and "Do you have any questions?" I didn't find it particularly useful, but it was a nice touch.
Shrinkinqtpi 202 Posted July 12, 2016 The nurse is the one who approves your surgery. I have waited 3 weeks to get one but she has not called me. Without the nurse, you are in limbo. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I have already been approved for my procedure. I got the letter yesterday, stating that the Nurse Case manager is completely voluntary and free of charge for me, if I would like to use one. It sounds like some people have one and some people don't, but I'm not sure.
