You should monitor yourself for the next few days, if you start to get ill or anything you could have gotten some food stuck in the stitches, but just call the dr. office and let them know. im sure they will say it will be fine but if you feel off to just be seen. SusieT 43 Posted July 14, 2016 My surgeon gives everyone a spiral manual created by our Bariatric Care Center here that covers about everything, including the 4 Stages of eating post-surgery. I accidentally ate a 1" square of communion bread (we use pita bread) without thinking when I was only 2 wks post-op. I worried about it, but went on with my liquid diet and had no ill effects...
