I am 3 weeks postop and following my doctors order on what I can and can not have but I am always afraid im eating to much like I had a 3inch cucumber with 2 thin slices of deli meat and I ate all of it, but I didn't have any pain in my tummy like I over did it . I guess my question is will you hurt if you over eat. I just don't want to stretch the pouch or do anything wrong . ..

Thank you for all your input :)

in the early days if I ate one bite too much it felt like that old after thanksgiving feeling.

sometimes my nose would drip or I would hiccup or burp.

now the swelling is down so eating my measured portions I rarely get to that point, I just feel satisfied not full or overfull.

Congratulations on following your surgeon's program.

First, sleever's don't have a pouch. I assume you have a sleeve since you posted on a sleeve forum.

Second, it is important, especially early out since you may not feel everything in your stomach, to weigh and measure your portions. Your stomach is still healing and the nerves may not yet be at 100%.

Third, my overeating signals are things like a runny nose, hiccups, or just feeling uncomfortable. If you are expecting to "hurt" then you may be past the point of overeating.

Eating slowly, chewing thoroughly, and paying attention to how you are feeling will help you learn when you are going from satisfied to one bite too many.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
