What was your very first NSV that you can remember? I can't wait to have one.

I buttoned my shorts today (day #3 post-op) without having to pull both sides tight and sucking in my gut! First NSV of many to come. :)

I was able to cross my legs comfortably in the passenger seat of a car the other night. I was so excited!

What is NSV?

It stands for "Non scale Victory". Those are things that happen due to the weight loss that you can't measure on a scale.< /p>

There are 1000's of them, such as: being able to fly in an airplane without using a seatbelt extender, having the strength and stamina to climb a small mountain, no longer having a medical condition or significantly lessened (such as sleep apnea, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure), clothes that you could not wear because they were too tight are now too loose, you now like having your picture taken or looking into mirrors, etc.

My first NSV was when my back stopped hurting after losing the first 15 lbs. I'm now 2 months post op and down 40lbs and today I realized I can cross my legs again. YAY!

Pulling up a pair of pants I could not get over my hips a couple weeks post op.

So many more since then- buying from the regular sized racks, finding my cheek bones, sitting criss- cross in the front passenger seat on a long car ride, hiking with my husband and many many more- 14 weeks post op today.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
