Lisa I did the same thing with the Pork rinds. I bought some thinking they would be like crackers. Oh no bad mistake. I pb'd twice and then again the next morning. They are sitting in the cupboard untouched since. I have found that the band is very fickle, one day I can eat something and it goes good. The next time it is like no way. So I don't think we can trust our bands they are just to darn fickle. It really is strange the things I can eat, like the whole darn bowl of buttered popcorn, chips, beef Jerky.< /p>

You crack me up Lisa... Since my 1 cc. fill I have pretty much had to be careful with meals but last weekend we went to my mother in laws and she made us nachos for dinner. I LOVE nacho (mine was more like taco salad) and I just kept loading on the toppings. I NEVER thought I would be able to eat it all but I just kept plowing thru it. I couldn't believe I actually finished the darn thing. salad type dishes go very easily for me as well as any kind of snack food such as chips, crackers and deserts... I don't understand WHY??? I am back to being a good girl this week but I was just amazed that sometimes things go down like lead while other times it all goes down way to easily... Best of luck to you and certainly hope you do not have any further band related problems. Teresa

Hi Kathy & Teresa, I can eat anything... except pork rinds! Maybe we should just eat a few before every meal to keep us from eating anything else.

Hi, Pat! I am going to see the surgeon next Wed., Dec.8. He told me if everything looks ok then we will go to the hospital for a fill (I wish we could just do it in his office!)

Lisa, I find I can eat corn tortillas, but not flour tortillas. Seems weird to me since I can eat a huge burger bun!!! Sometimes I think my band wears an evil little smile!

. I occasionally get a stuck feeling if I eat to big a bite of bread, but I thought I wasn't even supposed to get bread down. It is very frustrating because I am losing and gaining the same 10 pounds since being banded on 9/24. I am going for another fill on Monday and hopefully I will have good restriction then. I am also wondering what it is supposed to feel like and how you are supposed to know when you are full. Haven't felt that yet.

Try stopping the bread products. Not only are they apt to roll up in doughy balls and stop up your stoma, but they are high in calories and starches which turn into sugar, which effect your weight loss.

As for 'full', if you are eating hard Proteins and veggies, the 'full' you will feel will be above your band. Most of us even feel as if it's in the lower part of our throats/esophagus. You will not be feeling a tummy 'Thanksgiving' full sensation anymore, unless you are eating softer foods that will slide through the band easily. In my book, that's quite a relief to me! No more going to bed miserable or full of guilt over what I ate.

Pat, please don't feel silly. We've all had to learn the little abbreviations and Banding lingo. We all learn from each other. P. S. I just learned how to post pics.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
