Kernowgirl 5 Posted July 27, 2016 I have my surgery on August 11th as well. Today I start the 2 week liver reduction diet. I'm nervous but so excited to begin the journey I've waited so long to start. Good luck. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I'm freaking out because I'm eating more now, as if it's the last time. Why am I doing this? It's like I'm sabotaging myself before I even start!! Kernowgirl 5 Posted July 27, 2016 Hey. Last night was my last supper. I had whatever I wanted. But now I have 2 weeks of only fat free / sugar free yogurt, sugar free jelly and Water. What I would suggest is don't go overboard on 'eating everything you can't have post surgery' Why do you only have to do a 2 day clear liquid diet before surgery? Don't you have to do a liver reduction diet? Im in the UK but I've noticed a lot of members on here from the US. Where are you? Every patient in the UK needs to do a 2 week lover reduction diet. I was mentally preparing for a two week liquid diet but the surgeon told me only 2 days clear liquid. I'm in the US in Miami. Going to get my act together starting today as if I had to do the liquid pre op diet so I don't get crazy headaches afterwards. I'm 39 and have a weight of 208 lbs and a goal 138. For example, I have a really high BMI, and my surgeon wants me to have a 3 week liquid diet preop. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Shrinkinqtpi 202 Posted July 27, 2016 My surgeon told me he could do the surgery today without the liver reduction diet (BMI 53) that the mandate comes from the insurance companies. I can see from here that it helps us get our heads on straight for proper eating after surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
