Trying to find new ways to tone my upper arms,

Recommended Posts

Something new I going to tryout... I just installed a app on my phone which is a stop watch. I programmed it to go off every 30 minutes. Once this stop watch goes off I am going to do 40 arm lifts; lifting my arm over my head... hopefully this would help me to lose some of my upper arm fat and toning my upper back at the same time. If I start at 8:00am - 8:00 pm I should have done 960 arm lifts...

Have anyone tried something like this before ? And if so did it help? Are do anyone have any suggestion?

I have yet to be sleeved yet trying to tone up and continue developing lean muscle????

Are you doing them with weights?

I have added muscle to my arms with this routine. I started with 5 lb weights, moved to 10, I am about to move up again.

That app sounds like a good idea. It'll keep you on a routine. Good old-fashioned push ups worked for me in the past. I started by doing them against a wall because I wasn't strong enough to do them on the ground. Then after a couple of weeks I graduated to "girl push-ups", then regular ones (which were still super hard, so I mostly the girly ones). You can switch up th position of your arms to target different areas.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
