I'm 2 days post op and having vision problems. I can see far away with my glasses on but to read anything on my phone I have to take my glasses off. Has this happened to anyone else?

How old are you?

You just described my eyesight after age 42 1/2.

When I left the hospital on my 2 day post-op I had that nausea patch behind my ear, and I was told that because I had touched it then my eyes after it had made my pupils really enlarged.

My nurse just called and I asked her about it and she said it was probably due to the anesthesia and should clear up in a couple days. Thanks for all the relies.

I don't think this is anything to worry about. I have had a lot of major surgeries and I always have blurred vision for a few days up to a week. It just takes a time to get all that anesthesia out of your system.

Congratulations on getting to the other side! Your life will change for the better.

I think it was all the drugs they pump you full of. I couldn't read anything for a few days and I have perfect vision.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
