hollymae 0 Posted July 7, 2016 Hi, I just had my surgery last week. I need advice on successful and healthy meals and food. I just tried to eat a sandwich. Took 3 bites and threw up. Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App
grammy4 17 Posted July 7, 2016 I usually can't eat bread--sometimes I can eat toast. Try eating the meat only. Eating slowly makes more of a difference for me than anything. After I swallow, sometimes I just wait a minute before I take another bite. I also take small bites. I also think that what I might be able to eat one day, I can't eat another. Julie norton 2,850 Posted July 11, 2016 My doc was fairly strict about my diet for the first couple of months.... Ask yours about bread.... That can be difficult for digestion in the beginning. If it didn't stay down, you might want to wait before you challenge your stomach again. You can irritate your stoma easily... Especially in the healing stage. Good luck and read all your info front to back to stay on track
