Hi, My name is Becky. I had my sleeve done March 17th 2016. I have lost so far 65 lbs. I was very slow to lose at first and then I was told by other people who had this done that I wasn't eating enough. So I upped my calorie intake to 600 to 800 calories per day. I was also told by my Dr and my NUT that I am only supposed to be consuming only 1/3 of a cup of food per meal. There is no way I can eat 1/3 cup of food and up my calorie intake to lose weight. I know I am eating more than 1/3 of a cup of food. But with the added calorie intake I am losing weight.

So my question is: What is everyone else doing? Were you told in the beginning to only eat 1/4 cup of food for the first 3 months then up it to 1/3 cup up to 6 months then go to 1/2 cup up to 1 yr then move up to 1 cup of food per meal for the rest of your life?

I am confused...

I am confused...

My program never gave limits on size of meals. My sleeve does that.

My guidelines have always been Protein based. I need at least 100 grams of Protein a day. That means I have to eat frequent small meals and Snacks. It is a physical impossibility to get 100 grams of protein in 3 meals no matter what size (1/4 cup, 1/3 cup, or 1/2 cup). Plus, the size depends on the density of what I am eating. I can eat more Greek yogurt or cottage cheese than chicken or steak.
