dorriee an 23 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) Hi everyone. Tomorrow I start he two week liquid diet and it just hit me that I won't be able to eat all the things I love anymore.. I'm sort of freaking out thinking I won't be able to make it through these two weeks. Any support or advice will be greatly. Appreciated! Abfabs 1 Posted July 5, 2016 Hi dorriee Please do not worry, I had to do a 3 week liquid diet pre op and i really thought i would struggle as i have no willpower. But something clicked in me and i knew that if i didn't do this then there was a chance they couldn't perform the operation. After the first few days it gets easier. I still had to prepare food for my husband and children and although i would of done anything to have eaten it i knew that it just wasnt worth it. I was told that just one mouthful could reverse the affects on shrinking the liver (not sure how true it may be but i wasn't going to risk it). I lost nearly 2 stone on the liquid diet. Im now 14 weeks post op and although i have only lost a few pounds since the operation im now starting to feel the restriction with 6.15 in my band and hoping i will soon reach my "green zone" Good luck with the liquid diet and operation and just keep reminding yourself why you are doing it. dorriee an 23 Posted July 5, 2016 Thanks for your input. I know that the next 6 weeks will be hard but I'm looking ahead at the big picture Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
diboing 7 Posted July 5, 2016 I cannot lie the pre op diet is awfull. However because it is a choice between sticking to the diet or no operation, then you develop a determination you didn't know you had. Pre op I made the familly meals, then post op I made meals, made an afternoon tea for the familly, sat in a restaurant while the familly ate. Remember it is only for 6 weeks where as the effects of the surgery will be with you for lifetime. Wishing you all the best. dorriee an 23 Posted July 5, 2016 Thank you so much for your input! I'm looking ahead to the big picture. And 6 weeks is not a lot considering the lifetime benefits! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
diboing 7 Posted July 5, 2016 I thought purée food would be awfull, but after 3.5 weeks of liquid food, purée is AMAZiNG Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
dorriee an 23 Posted July 5, 2016 I'm gonna eat some baby food Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
diboing 7 Posted July 6, 2016 Baby food doesn't hold the level of nutrients you need. Just cook something with high levels of Protein then blend. It is lovely........ Honestly Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
