Hi guys, I have not been on for quite a while. I am still stalled at 172lbs, now almost 2 months. I just keep thinking maybe this is it, yesterday was my 11 month surgiversary. Maybe this is all my body wants to lose. I would like to lose more weight, at least 20lbs, if not 30lbs. I am still very grateful for the weight loss so far and for my sleeve each and ever day, but I feel like I am not done. I do notice I am much more hungry these days too. Trying to stay away from the carbs, bread, rice, crackers. Not very much, but I guess just enough that it is holding me back. Any advice will be appreciated. I have increased the liquids, Protein, exercise, and still the scale just sits. Hope everyone is doing well.

When have others noticed the weight loss has stopped.

The weight loss stops when you let it stop. It isn't a mysterious process . . . eat at a caloric deficit and you will lose weight, though it may be slow at the end! I had to do hand-to-hand combat with the last 20 lbs. I made sure to track every single morsel of food and was hyper-vigilant about getting my portions weighed or measured correctly.

I did not eat *any* grains, sweets, or high carb veggies. No liquid calories other than Protein shakes. No snacking other than Protein Shakes.

I exercised for at least 30 minutes a day for 6 days a week, but did not count the calories burned or make an attempt to eat them back.

It was hard work. I had no illusions that I was going to let my body do what it wanted. My body wanted, and still wants, to be over 350 lbs. F my body and what it wants. I am in charge.

ETA if you are not sure about eating at a caloric deficit, a good rule of thumb is to start with your current weight x 10 and consider that your maintenance number. So for you, that would be right around 1700-1800. Eat at least 500 calories less than that each day and you should lose somewhere between a pound and two pounds per week, depending on a lot of factors.

I'm with @@Bufflehead . I think YOU are in charge of how much weight you lose.

You gotta eat Protein. And lots of it. Add those healthy veggies and low-starch fruits and a little bit of whole grains. Gotta stay away from the slider foods -- you know what they are (you named some of them). Gotta drink all your Water. Gotta keep movin', movin', movin'. Gotta keep taking your Rxs and supplements.

Nothing's changed at 11 months post-op if you're not at goal yet -- all the same rules still apply.

Yes, the weight loss slows down toward the end. But until YOU are through, your weight loss doesn't have to be through.

It took me 8 months to lose my last 15 pounds.

Keep the faith. :)

Although, your metabolism can and does slow down, and you can end up with a new BMR far lower than that calculation would suggest.

Also, the BMR calculation is different between males and females and includes age as a factor.

I'm at 11 months out as well and have only lost 95 lbs, only about 1 pound in the past month. One thing I have noticed is that my body fat percentage has not decreased as much as my BMI so I think I need to do more strength training.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
