trinitys_mom 0 Posted August 21, 2007 Has anyone had the problem of not being able to keep Protein down? I was filled at the end of June and ever since I can not eat protein!!! I cut it into very small pieces and chew at least 50 times but it still gets stuck and I eventually throw it up!! I seen the doctor yesterday and he unfilled me 1cc and he said that might work, has anyone been unfilled for this reason. I am down almost 50lbs but it is not a healthy way to loose weight. I am living on coffee and Water and I am soooo hungry. I feel like an anorexic trapped in a fat body!!! Any suggestions for this problem please write me. Thank you
Tyanna 0 Posted August 21, 2007 I would think the unfill should help. I have to watch what I eat. But I don't seem to have any trouble with protiens. I do have to watch the stringy stuff like green Beans and turkey and breads (unless they are hard crusted or toasted. I have only had those types of things get stuck to the point of pb and sliming. I have never thrown up anything. Hope the unfill works and I think it will. Good luck !!! Banded June 28, 07 first fill Aug 3rd - 1.6cc 2nd fill sept 1st
mrikat 0 Posted August 22, 2007 I have had to decreases in my fill. The first fill was to 1.1 in a 4cc band. I had the second fill to 1.7 and could not eat, liquids only. They took out some 2 more time but I am still a bit restricted. I can take liquids fine but most solid Protein hurts. I am at about 1.3 cc now but when I go back in 2 wks I will get more removed. 1.1 cc seemed to be the best for me. It really is a hit and miss thing finding that sweet spot. absolutely a learning process.
Mammysm 10 Posted September 4, 2007 Hello Trinity''s Mom, I have had problems with meat and other things staying down. I know if they are going to bother me they do right away and until they are up out of the stomach I am not going to feel better and that usually means vomiting one way or the other and sometimes I have to make myself because I know that will make me feel better and I know it has to come up. Please write back I was banded DEC 06 and have had 3 fills I think..Email me please. Donna MY email is Mammysm@aol.com

Thank you Sliming and vomiting after a fill are a sure indicator that the fill is too tight. Even a small unfill of POINT ONE CCs will help. (.1CC) Repeated vomiting is a very dangerous thing for a person who has a Lap-Band, as that is the number one cause of band slips.
kacee 3 Posted September 8, 2007 If you cannot gt your Protein in at this point, you need to do Liquid Protein. liquid Protein Drinks and shakes. You HAVE to have that protein or you will rapidly feel like CRAP.
Wendell Edwards 73 Posted September 8, 2007 If you cannot gt your Protein in at this point, you need to do liquid Protein. Liquid protein drinks and shakes. You HAVE to have that protein or you will rapidly feel like CRAP. Not only will you feel horrible, you will also start losing valuable lean muscle, because if your body doesn't get in enough protein, it starts to "eat" muscle tissue. Less muscle tissue means you get tired faster, and you lose LESS WEIGHT, because that muscle tissue burns calories just to exist. Lose the muscle tissue due to protein insufficiency, and your weight loss will take quite a bit longer to achieve.
