When were you knocked out?

In the Operating Room?

or

Before the Operating Room?

Just curious.

In the OR. Otherwise, how would I have walked in from the prep area? No, really, walking was my preference. I'd have felt stupid being taken in by wheelchair when I was capable of walking.

It's my understanding and experience that a mild sedative is often given outside the OR. Unless there is an unusual circumstance, the OR crew needs the patient awake to say, "Move this way....Do this....Do that....How's this?"

OR but they drugged me before so I was already chilled out. Xanax is the best.

I was already sedated from the tap block, but i do remember they talked to me in the OR before knocking me completely out.

OR. I had to slide myself on the table.

In the OR after I was transferred to the table. I was offered the pre-surgery tranquilizer (Versed) but declined. I didn't see any reason for it, for myself.

Operating room. I was wheeled in on a bed and then transferred to the table. I remember them strapping my arms in and then I woke up in the recovery room.

They gave me something to calm me and then they wheeled me in the OR. They moved me onto the operating table and that's the last thing I remember.

They wheeled me into the OR on the bed and I don't even remember moving onto the operating table. The last I remember I looked around the room and said all these people are for me and I was out. My next memory was being rolled through the doorway of my private room. I was told I was in surgery for 2 hours as I had 3 procedures done and in recovery for 3 hours.I spent 2 nights in the hospital.

They inserted the lines that they'd use for IVs in the preop /recovery room and might have given me some medication then but I don't think so. I walked into the OR, and they started their prep. In just a minute I remember them putting my arms out to my sides and hooking up an IV. That's all I remember! No scary mask and breathing in the gas like the movies... Waking up in post-op was uncomfortable for a few minutes. I remember thinking it was hard to breathe--just hard to draw air in my lungs. I said something and was reassured--and within a minute or two it was fine. Piece of cake.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
