Just wanted to say Hi. I had my band surgery on 28th March and had my 3rd fill which takes me to 6.15 out of a possible 10ml band.

I am now starting to notice the restriction and there are certain foods like bread that i can no longer have. I have not lost any weight since the 2 stone i lost on the pre liquid diet. I am hoping i will start to lose weight from the next fill. I was starting to feel like it wasn't working but now im starting to feel a restriction and hoping things start to happen soon.

Has anyone else had a slow start or am i just being impatient.

Thanks

Hi, I had my surgery in May in the UK, and I have not lost a single kilogram. Have had few fills, we reached 6.4 out of a 10 band, and at 6.4 I couldn't have Water down. He emptied some, right now I am at exactly 6.15 like yourself, and I feel minimal restriction. So I'm going back to fill 0.1 next week, hoping to reach the sweet spot! I have been extremely frustrated and still am, as I've been through this big surgical procedure without losing any weight. I know we should not be comparing fill sizes etc as we are all different, but sometimes it helps to talk with people in a similar situation.

Im hoping my "green zone" will be somewhere around 6.25.

Hi Samantha

Im glad im not the only one feeling like this. I was also starting to feel like i had been through all this for nothing. I kept telling myself that it will happen soon etc but when it didn't i was starting to doubt that i had made the right decision. You read all these stories of people saying the weight just dropped off and i was hoping thats how it would be ????.

But im trying to be positive and i know that everyone is different so its just a case of being patient and waiting to find my own "green zone". Hopefully i wont have to wait much longer. Good luck with your next fill!

I had my band on 2nd June. With the 10days pre op diet and 3 weeks after I lost 2.5 stone. Which in my world is AMAZING. But two weeks with a stall I am now begining to get a little freaked out. What happens if it doesn't come off. I am reading the messages each day and gathering a lot of strength from them. Reminding myself this is ok, everyone looses at a different speed. I have to believe in a years time I will have lost weight!!! Keep following the plan and know you are not alone. I'm also from the UK.

I know what you mean.

Things are slow at the moment and this gets me down and makes me want to eat the wrong things. Im hoping to start seeing a loss soon to help me become motivated.

Im expecting a call tomorrow from the dietician who will then book in my next fill. Fingers crossed for you!

Thank you. I haven't had any fills yet, just hoping they work!!!! Is it painful? They uk dieticians do not talk about eating as much Proteins, but it appears this may be the way forward. Good luck with your journey. We will get there it may take a little time

Update. Since my last post i am now on 6.75 and have hopefully found my 'green zone'

The first 2 weeks after my fill i was having doubts as couldnt keep food down but eventually it settled and i have lost 18lbs in 2 weeks. I know this weight loss wont always be as much but it has given me the boost that i needed.

How is everyone else doing?

X x

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
