Nothing has made me sick

Recommended Posts

Two years out next month and have never thrown up once or particularly felt sick from any food. Sleeve of steel!

I am 6 weeks post op too and haven't had anything that's made me ill either. I did have a bout of nausea a few weeks ago but was told that was more related to hormonal changes. I also think it was connected to all the milk I was drinking with my shakes. I usually don't drink milk at all and my dairy intake pre op was quite small. Once I got out of the shakes phase I've been fine.

I was sleeved. I can eat 4 ounces of Protein and a 1/4 cup of vegetables, which is what my plan calls for. I am not stuffed but I am satisfied. I do get hungry but mainly at meal times. It's not the overwhelming hunger I used to feel before. My doctor and NUT both have said that this "normal".

Yes count your blessing cause I am post- op about 17 days and I have and it feels awful and hurts but I have learned eat slow and some foods are no good for me I have vomited a lot in parking lots at home and my head had even started swimming so be extra careful with the new baby stomach we have.

6 weeks post op (on July 5th) and nothing has made me sick yet...I'm on regular diet now and have tried most things and nothing has come back up. Is that weird or normal? I was fully expecting to puke!

I'm two weeks out and I haven't gotten sick either. I've been on puréed foods the whole time and I've tried everything. Moved onto soft foods and still no problems. I've read that people can't handle eggs. I've just kinda been waiting for some type of pain, nausea, or vomiting and I haven't even come close.

I'm on soft foods for my fourth week, and I cannot do eggs by themselves (soft scrambled or hard boiled). Lots and lots of gas pain, it hurts a lot. But add them into a mashed potato salad and they're perfectly fine--it's weird! But so far, that's been the only thing that hasn't agreed with my sleeve.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
