How long did you take off of work? How long did you actually need? How long were you in pain? What was your job?

Sorry lots of questions. Trying to figure out how much time I will need. :)

I'm a nurse by the way, work for a busy pediatric clinic. It does not require lifting, just a lot of sitting/standing.

Thanks in advance!

I'm new here, the name is Taylor. :)

I'm self/employed so I had a different focus. I had to get back to work. I took almost 2 weeks off. Probably needed three. I was in excruciating pain from the hernia repair. The sleeve caused some pain but it was manageable. The hernia repair was not. I'm in property. On my feet and active for upwards of 15 hr a day. Gl!

I took 3 weeks and needed every day. Im a bank teller. The pain was for about a week but I then had other issues with Vitamins, vomiting, and discomfort after. I was also always tired so the three weeks was perfect time

I took one off and one short week work from home. I could have gone to work week 2 vsg no hernia. But I needed rest and ability to get comfortable when needed. I will be out of office just over two weeks when I return.

Some people go right back, I say take as much as you can financially and professionally afford!

I was sent back to work as a prison guard 2 weeks post op. Was definitely too early considering they said don't lift over 20 pounds for a month....my gun belt weighs me than that and I'm sure wrestling a 300 pound inmate wouldn't be good....I took it easy and tried to avoid a fight and I did ok. 6 weeks post op now.
