What is the best tasting pre made broth you've found? Also, any recipes for homemade? They had an AMAZING broth at the hospital and they said it's an institutional brand.

I got the Rachael Ray one because I figured if anyone will have a yummy broth it'd be Rachael Ray but it tastes like it NEEDS to be used for cooking instead of for eating solo.

I'm debating making chicken noodle Soup and just eating the broth part.

I'm 5 days post op.

I really liked the ginger miso broth from Trader Joe's. It was a nice change from chicken.< /p>

I also liked the Progresso Italian Wedding Soup (with everything strained out of course).

I am 4 days post op and spent days making broths before surgery. The easiest: I bought a costco pre-cooked baked chicken plopped it in a pot and started adding diced veggies: Leeks, onions, celery, carrots topped with Water a few chicken bullion cubes and simmered an hour. I pulled the chicken out and let cool. I drained broth into ice cube trays, put mushy veggies in snack size ziplocks and shredded the chicken and put a couple table spoons of reserved broth in each baggie. Voila!! Meals for a month. My husband takes two broth cubes microwaves them in a small glass dish for 55 secs and I am golden.

Whole foods had some bone broth pouches in refrigerated section. Each was about 3 post op servings so I splurged. They were I think $5. One was pho and the other was ginger coconut. Both were very good with Protein powder. I am going back for more. I just don't want to spend time cooking in kitchen.

I also like Campbell's beef consume.

Bone Broths are easy to make. And help with inflammation. Put a package of beef narrow bones into a pot, add a few whole stalks of celery, onion peeled and halved a couple carrots halved and fill pot with enough Water to make it swim. I added a little garlic and salt and pepper. But it's rich and just delish. But the cartons of stock by Swanson are pretty good. If you make chicken stock peel the breast off to save for your chicken salad later. And just use the bones. Honestly I'm 4 days out of surgery. I loved the broth too at the hospital. But very salty.

Pacific Bone Broth and/or bone stock. It comes in chicken or turkey. You can get it from whole foods or Amazon.< /p>

I literally did as you said. I made a can of plain ol' chicken noodle Soup and strained the innerds. Even added a touch of Kosher salt (I needed something SAAAAALTY because my personal cravings and it helps my headaches) and it was glorious. My program really stresses "low sodium, low

fat, low everything" but that just seems like more of a way to encourage you towards healthier options. Regular ol' chicken noodle soup broth isn't gonna hurt (I've heard different temps can sensitize your sleeve and be uncomfortable so watch for that, I haven't experienced it).

So there's my say. :P

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
