northstar9148 82 Posted July 1, 2016 Just curious. What do you eat during the day? I need to lose 15 pounds before surgery. Maybe I could copy cat someone? I can't seem to do it on my own. Steph6981 51 Posted July 1, 2016 Try to get those slim fast all ready prepared shakes and have two for the day and eat maybe a salad with grilled chicken. But a small sensible meal for dinner. I lost weight fast. Also walk atleast 10 mins a day.
eclecticwingtips 130 Posted July 1, 2016 Pre op i had an Optifast shavke for Breakfast, a cup if vegetable Soup ( only certain vegies, no potato, corn, pimpkin, sweet potato etc) homemade with just veg and stock plus a Quest bar or Optifast bar for lunch and 150g of lean Protein and vegies for dinner (again no high carb vegies) Sent from my SM-T350 using Tapatalk
Oak Park Lorena 162 Posted July 1, 2016 I used Medifast for Breakfast, lunch and a snack and then 4 oz lean protien and a veggie for dinner for my pre-op diet. Medifast is low fat, low carb, high Protein and been around for decades for weight loss. It actually does not taste terrible. I actually like the pudding and the teas, the shakes are kind of the usual Protein shake experience. I did Medifast for weight loss in the late 80s (yes, I am so old!) it's not a great solution for long term because you gain the weight back rapidly once you start eating food again, but it works well I think for the pre-op diet. Remember, the surgeon wants you on the pre-op diet to shrink your liver, not necessarily to lose weight, so find something you can stick to!
