RobinGee 18 Posted July 1, 2016 So I am like 10 months out from my surgery and stopped losing weight a while ago (lost a total of 57 lbs) and most of the time everything is fine. Every once and a while (every 2-3 weeks) I get this excrutiating pain around my pouch area. Sometimes it lasts only like 10 minutes and goes away and other times it lasts for like 2-3 hours and I'm screaming and sweating. Anyone else ever have this? I'm thinking it probably has something to do with Constipation and/or foods I eat (like potatoes).
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted July 1, 2016 Did you have sleeve or RNY? You posted in the sleeve area, but are saying pouch, which is what RNY people have, not sleeve people. So I am not sure. In any event, I don't think what you are describing is normal, but I am not a medical professional. I would suggest checking in with your surgeon and/or your PCP. My guess is one of the first questions that needs to be settled is whether this could be gall bladder attacks (assuming you still have your gall bladder). But definitely see a doctor, you should not be screaming in pain, that is quite alarming. Check back and let us know how you are doing.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted July 1, 2016 This doesn't sound good. I agree with everything @@Bufflehead said. Call your surgeon and/or your PCP, now.
RobinGee 18 Posted July 1, 2016 Sorry yeah i had a sleeve, I've heard others call it a pouch more just because I feel like I have a tiny stomach so that's what I call it. Yeah, I do need to call my dr, haven't seen them in a while.
RobinGee 18 Posted July 1, 2016 I did some more research and my gut (no pun intended) is telling me it's the plylorous and food is getting stuck there for a while or something along those lines. I'll call my dr.
