4u2nvyme 96 Posted June 30, 2016 This is no joke. The nausea was so bad now is a bit calm. The pain of gas in my stomach is so annoying. I get full fast so Is hard for me to zip Water the whole day through. Im happy I got it but no matter how much you read its not the same as experiencing it. Kaze 94 Posted June 30, 2016 I can attest that that the nausea is seriously bad for the first two days, but after that it's almost funny how nonexistent it became for me. Water will become far more natural to you probably by tomorrow or Saturday. It hits you pretty quickly and there's a noticeable gap between "I can't drink that much" to "I feel like I can drink almost like a normal person". I didn't have the gas pain, or at least I don't think I did, but I did buy Gas-X strips just in case and as KristenLe said, walk around as much as possible! Good luck! azsoul 24 Posted June 30, 2016 I found G2 Gatorade much easier to drink than Water. Didn't feel as heavy going down. It gets better every week and soon you will be able to experience real food with flavor again. I am 5 weeks out and experimenting with solid foods. Just to have flavor again is such a morale boost. Better days ahead!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Twinmom07 63 Posted June 30, 2016 Hi all! I am about 4 days out from having surgery....did you guys throw up a lot or is it just constant sick feeling? I am trying to decide if I need help after surgery or if I can manage on my own for the most part when the hubby takes kids to some soccer camps, etc. like I have with other surgeries. Thanks! Iylmywrm1981 3 Posted June 30, 2016 I had mine Monday and I feel awful. My doctor is wanting Protein shakes every hour on the hour. With the foam and mucus all I do is gag and cry. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

azsoul 24 Posted July 1, 2016 I was on clear liquids for a week then 'full liquids' (which includes Protein shakes) for a week. Even then I was told 60-70 grams of Protein a day. I got the Premier shakes which are 30g protein and just had 2 a day. (I added yogurt or other sources too). Luckily I didn't have any nausea and I still love the shakes. I am glad! Wow, isn't it interesting how very different all the pre-op diets, post-op diets and requirements are from doctor to doctor? Mine is being done in a Surgery Center, not the hospital and there is no catheter, like I have heard several talk about. Also, they said my stay was 23 hours but I have read about a lot who are required to stay for 3 nights. So hard to know what to expect! I have had several surgeries, including back surgery and both the nurse and doctor tell me this will be the easiest one. I HOPE SO!!!
